Two, one.. blast off

Yes, being home is awesome. I love being around my family all the time but I forgot that being here for a very long time means lots of not really doing anything.

Okay. I miss my friends in Rexburg.

Four thousand candies for you today

Weird story... I want it to snow. Just for the four days I left to be in Rexburg. Please? But also give me someone to cuddle with. Hot cocoa+cuddling+snow=exactly what I want right now. But actually I just had ice cream so my belly would not be pleased with cocoa. It was peppermint flavored. Nummy.

By the time next winter comes around, I've going to have an entire arsenal of crocheted stuff to put on my head and wrap around my neck.

Books everyone should read:
The Things They Carried- Tim O'Brien.
The Road- Cormac McCarthy
Beloved- Toni Morrison
Life of Pi- Yann Martel
Interpreter or Maladies- Jhumpa Lahiri
New York Trilogy- Paul Auster
Ender's Game- Orson Scott Card

Five

An old friend of mine, Danny Bloom, writes music at Boston Conservatory. Here are two of his pieces. They're really great and I'm sure it would mean a lot to him if you'd listen to them. Great Sunday morning music, if I may say so myself.

Old Unused Passage

Sometimes I think I just want to remember what I was just going to say. Poop. I hate forgetting stuff this important. Uhhh. Okay, retraced my steps. I remember now.

I need to go to every place that my favorite bands sing about. The good thing is that people always sing about California. Been there, done that. What's next? Coney Island. And I'll listen to Death Cab the whole way there. Cause that's far. Like East coast? Googled it. Yes it's "a peninsula and beach on the Atlantic Ocean in southern Brooklyn, New York, United States." Anyone want to come on this marvelous road trip? More details later.

In case you forgot, here's a reminded of my obsession with dandelions.

Six forgot his pictures at the bus stop.

Watermelon. I told you so.

 And beach water.

Six

Today, I miss the summer. Being free to do as I please and eat watermelon to my bladder's content. Being cold is great and all, but there's something about warmth that makes blood run through my heart and brain and belly and toes. Basically, it's the reason for my existence.

Tomorrow, I will miss freedom to do as I please while I'm confined to the figurative workspace of my mind.

And also, today, or this post at least, I will not be uploading pictures. The little button isn't working for some strange reason. Bummer. I had some good ones. One was of a very juicy watermelon. Actually, whether or not it was juicy is completely beyond me but I've had my fair share of watermelons and in my experience, they're juicy. Or watery. Hence the name. It's way past my bed time. Another was of water. The beach kind of water.

Grammar lesson: The difference between past and passed is that one is a thing, the other is a used to be. I passed the car. The car is past the turtle. The car has passed the turtle. The turtle passed the car. The turtle passed the car in the past but now we use engines instead of feet to move us passed the past. Get it? Got it? Good.

And in case you forgot what the countdown is for, it's the day until the semester ends. Six days left. Woo.

Nine

So I'm not a huge fan of writing a blog post that says, "Today I blahblahblah." But today I was on campus from 8:45am-8:45pm. Yes, you did the math correctly. Twelve hours. But I finished my screenplay. It's exactly 100 pages long. Big stress off my shoulders. But tomorrow will be another busy homework day but then I get to make cinnamon rolls and Oreo truffles. Yum.

Sometimes I just really want an attractive man with brains. Is that too much to ask for?

Happy birthday little brother Benjamin. I can't believe you're sixteen already. You are sixteen, right? You're just so cute and I love you. You always have the funniest things to say and you always make my day with your little voices. Spending four months with you will be the bestestestest ever. Loveeee you.

Only 33 pages left to write today.

Best thing I read all day? "Eat immediately if not sooner." Thanks... cause I was thinking about eating while they're still in the oven. Now I know it's the right thing to do.

I secretly, and not so secretly, want that piercing. Please.

Eleven

Happy birthday dear brother Stephen. You're twenty two and you're in Cambodia. The family misses you sososo much. We're going to all be very good friends when you come home. Because we'll all be home again for at least two months. That's worth everything, huh? But you're the bestest brother. After you left for college and then came home again, we all became friends. We started loving each other and playing together and enjoying each other. We're all so much alike and it makes for good, joke filled conversation. You being gone makes me home sick and it will be so sad to see you go to school far away. I love you, brother.

Today was a homework day. An I feel like throwing up day. A pill for a headache day. A go to bed very early day.

I searched 'happy' in the box and eight pages of posts popped up. I searched 'sad' and there were no results. Boo ya.

Favorite band.

Twelve

I finished Life of Pi the other day. Goodgoodgood. Everyone in the world should read it. If everyone in the world read it with the intent to strengthen or gain their testimony in God, the world would be a good place. Naturally, though, some people would read it and take away from it the nonexistence of God. That's utter nonsense.

God is a real being. He rules the universe. It's not just 'something bigger;' it's a god. He's someone that knows me and you and your mother. He knows out needs and wants and, what's even better, He knows the difference between the two. So he gives us our needs and hopefully our wants are aligned with the things He knows we need. He knows when timing is correct and He'll stop us if it isn't.God lives and He loves us. Every single person on this earth and in the heavens is a child of a God, our Heavenly Father. I believe it.

A boy spends 227 days on board a twenty something foot long life boat with an adult Bengal tiger. He survives. What of that? Read it, read it, read it. Read it and believe in God.
